Q.  What areas are available?
A.  Currently there are many areas available nationally and internationally.  Please visit our PWS Locator page or ask us to see if your area(s) is available. 

Q.  Will Paint Washout Systems put any other licensees in my area?
A.  Yes. 

Q.  How are the PWS boxes shipped?
A.  Depending on your location there are several options.  Our manufacturers have plants in across the United States.  The first option is to pick up the bins yourself.  The other is to have the bins shipped by tractor-trailer or by rail car.  The options are yours and we will assist in finding the best alternative for you.

Q.  Will there be any supply problems with the box manufacturers?
A.  No.  Our exclusive manufacturers, Wastequip and Consolidated Fabricators, have more then enough resources to manufacture and meet the demands of PWS partners.  Additionally, they have two manufacturing sites.  One is in Galt, CA and the other in Los Angeles, CA.  Our midwest and east coast manufacturer, Wastequip, has manufacturing plants strategically placed throughout the United States.

Q.  Can I have the PWS boxes manufactured somewhere else?
A.  No.  We have patent-pending status on the PWS box and have selected Wastequip and Consolidated Fabricators for an exclusive manufacturing agreement. 

Q.  What is the minimum order for Paint Washout Boxes?
A.  There is no minimum number of containers that need to be ordered.  We anticipate that each licensee will need at least 100-300 containers to start off with but your area may be different. 

Q.  Do you offer any financing or lease programs?
A.  We do not directly offer any financing programs but have arrangements with leasing companies for lease/loan agreements on any equipment including trucks and boxes.  Our container manufacturers have financing available as well.

Q.  How much is the license fee?
A.  The minimum license fee is $10 per box/per month.

Q.  Why do I have to pay a license fee?
A.  Prior to opening our business up to partners, we explored various business models to follow.  We found that operating the business under a license agreement was far cheaper and less restrictive on partners than any other model, i.e. franchise, equity partnership or third party hauler.  The other critical component is that the PWS is protected under Federal Patent Laws as we have patent pending status.  We have also spent a considerable amount of time and money investing in a brand that is known nationwide.

Q. What do I get from PWS for paying the license fee?
A.  First and foremost, you obtain the opportunity to operate and distribute under our license agreement, PWS boxes, for a potential profit.  You get the following collateral benefits as well; use of Paint Washout Systems brand name, logo and website in your own advertising campaigns, your own cloned PWS website, technical, operational and sales assistance from PWS, National advertising campaigns, National Awards, National/State/Regional Awareness Campaigns and use of marketing materials, promotional material that have been designed, protected areas and pursuit of patent or intellectual property infringement.

Q.  How long is the license agreement for?
A.  The term for the license agreement is for 10 years, which is renewable in 5 year increments for the lifetime of the patent.  (See license agreement for details)

Q. How much paint washout material is recycled?
A.  Each PWS partner will be responsible for tracking their recycle efforts and will depend on the number of PWS boxes they have in service. 

Q.  Who are my prospective clients?
A.  Anyone in need of washing out paint equipment.  More specifically, General Engineering Contractors, General Building Contractors and Paint Contractors cover most of the classifications.

Q.  As a licensee, am I required to purchase my marketing material through Paint Washout Systems?
A. No.  We do however have several marketing pieces that each licensee has access to. 

Q.  As a licensee, am I required to purchase my promotional items through Paint Washout Systems?
A.  No. 

Q.  Is there a patent on the Paint Washout Systems box?
A.  We have Patent-Pending status on our paint washout containers, which means the patent has been formally applied for and we are awaiting approval. 

Q.  As a licensee can I service customers outside of my assigned area?
A.  We do not encourage our partners to service outside of their assigned area(s).  It may be necessary to service an existing client in an area that is not already taken by another licensee.  In that case, yes, as long as it does not infringe on another partners assigned area. 

Q.  Can I charge whatever I want for the rental of the PWS boxes?
A.  It is up to the individual licensee to determine pricing in there respective markets.  However, We suggest that your pricing guidelines similar to what is being charged by the neareast licensee, especially if they are adjacent to your area. 

Q.  Am I required to have liability insurance and if so, how much?
A.  We require each partner to maintain general liability insurance in an amount of no less than $2,000,000.

Q.  Who are my competitors?
A.  There are several competitors in this particular field.  Local SWPPP contractors continue to offer and make washout pits made of hay bales.  These systems are inferior and their design features are inherently flawed, ultimately falling in non-compliance with Regulatory BMP’s.

Q. What is my potential revenue and profit?
A. The revenue will depend on several variables including but not limited to; location, operational expenses and demand.  We have a dynamic spreadsheet specifically designed to assist partners in effectively evaluate this business opportunity. 

Q. Who are my target customers?
A. Anyone in need of washing out paint equipment.  More specifically, General Engineering Contractors, Paint Contractors and General Building Contractors.  Additionally, SWPPP engineering companies are a great resource and a potential sales target, as they are the ones responsible for writing the plans used on construction sites.

Targeted lists can be obtained from the Contractors State License Board (small fee) and State Water Resources Control Board. (California) Similar lists should be available in other states and regions.
